Dual specialty training in the prosthetics and in implant surgery, which is what lets one office take a case from the first scan to the final teeth.
Dr. Carpentieri went looking for clinicians who were the best of the best in education and training, and exceptionally good people. Dr. Eduardo, a prosthodontist who grew up in her parents' dental office and laboratory, is who he found.
Graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland/Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1985, earned his prosthodontic specialty certificate at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore in 1997, then completed a four-year fellowship in periodontology and implant dentistry at NYU. An academic consultant
Dr. Carpentieri is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, in the Department of Prosthodontics/Implant Surgical Fellowship. He gives one full day a week to teaching residents, and is a consultant, mentor and regular lecturer for the Zimmer Biomet dental implant company.
Dental implants & full arch
Outside commercial centers, it is unusual for an independent practice to offer full arch immediate implant restorations. Here the extractions, grafting, implants and temporary teeth are done in one day, with careful case selection.
A titanium anchor fuses with the jawbone over a few months, then an abutment and a crown are attached to it. It also helps keep the bone around it.
For three or more missing teeth in a row. Usually two implants carry a porcelain bridge, so the natural teeth either side are not cut down for crowns.
Fixed, or removable and snapped onto the implants instead of held with paste. A full arch generally needs a minimum of four implants.
The implants are placed virtually on a 3D model first, and a surgical guide is made from that plan to carry it into the mouth precisely.

Crowns, bridges, inlays and onlays, planned by prosthodontists. Where only part of a tooth is damaged, only that part is removed and the rest is bonded back.

The Sirona Galileos scanner gives a 3D view for diagnosis and implant planning. The practice chose it for its low dose: about 100 times less radiation than a hospital CT scan, and less than half a traditional full mouth series of x-rays.
A crown usually means a temporary and a second visit.
Here the tooth is scanned, the crown designed on screen and milled from high strength, metal-free ceramic in the office, then placed the same day. One appointment, one round of anesthetic, no temporary.
Trays of impression paste are the part people hate.
The Omnicam scanner records the teeth digitally instead, with no mess and no gagging. The same scan is merged with the 3D image to plan implants and make the surgical guide.
Oral cancer risk assessment
Survival for oral cancer is high when it is found early, yet most cases are found late. Patients are assessed with a questionnaire, their history and an examination, and those at high risk are offered CancerDetect, a saliva test from Viome that the FDA has granted breakthrough device designation.
Laboratory fee $299, paid directly to Viome. No extra fee from the office to review the results.

All insurance claims are filed for you as a courtesy, with an estimate of your coverage. Payment is due when the procedure is completed and the insurance reimbursement is directed to you. Ask about financing options before treatment.
A teledentistry appointment uses live two-way video and uploaded photos for a virtual exam and consultation. Often it answers the question without a trip to the office.
Please give at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged.

Before implant surgery or an extraction, avoid aspirin for 7 days, alcohol for 1 day and caffeine on the day, wear loose comfortable clothes and eat a meal beforehand. Full written instructions are given at the office.
